Cavan Pet Hospital team

Els Dehaene

Els qualified in 1996 from UCD and has been in Cavan Pet Hospital since the year 2000.  She is married to Sean, a Cavan man, and they have three children Sean, Felix and Juliet. She has two cats and several hens to complete her family.

Eithne Leahy

Eithne is a vet originally from Cork who has worked internationally before a Cavan man enticed her to Cavan! So far she is adapting well to the culture change and enjoying working with all the team in the hospital.

Emer McManamly

Emer graduated from UCD in 2007 and joined the team in 2013. Emer has a dog named Noodle who is almost certainly the best black and white dog in the universe.

Rachael Brady

Rachael is a veterinary nurse who joined the Cavan Pet Hospital team in 2017. A Cavan native, she is an avid Lacken GFC supporter. Claude, a chocolate labrador, who rules the household, is the most important member of her family. She grew up on a farm where her love for animals began.

Jennie Milligan

Jennie graduated as a nurse in UCD in 2010 and has worked in Cavan Pet Hospital since 2007. Originally from Kildare, Jennie now lives in Oldcastle and has two beautiful girls Rachel and Ellie. They have three cats Dora, Sid and Socks.

Donna Flynn

Donna has worked as a veterinary nurse for over twenty years. She is passionate about cats and runs her own cattery at home called Purrfections cattery. She also owns two Vietnamese pot bellied pigs called George and Betty. She lives in Leitrim with her husband Declan and two children Ciaran and Emma

Edel Tuite

Edel has worked as a veterinary nurse for the past eight years. She joined the team in 2016. She has a soft spot for the brachycephalic breeds and owns a boxer named Mac and a pug named Alfie. Her family is completed with a cat named Salt, three horses and six sheep.

Orla McLoughlin

Orla qualified as a veterinary nurse in 2012 and has worked in mixed practice since then but has a particular passion for small animals. She has recently joined our team. She has two older pets who have both turned thirteen this year, a cat called Mrs. Whiskers and a cocker spaniel called Pepper.

Pearl Brady

Pearl Brady became fully qualified as a practice cat in 2017, having worked as practice kitten previously. Her interests include taunting dogs, wrestling puppies and eating wet food. She really dislikes the outdoors, dry food and getting a bath.

Ruth Day

Ruth has worked in Cavan Pet Hospital as receptionist since 2011. From Cavan, she is married to Raymond and they have four boys Kyle, Ryan, Noah and Nick who help in caring for their two Labradors Shadow and Leo who- in turn- mind the cat Lucky at home.

Joan Kennedy

Joan qualified as a vet in 2016 and started here in Cavan Pet Hospital soon after graduating. She enjoys the diversity in working in both the small animal clinic and out on farms. Originally from Laois, she enjoys horse riding and has a working collie called Chip who helps out on the family farm.

Rachel Burgess

Rachel qualified back in the middle ages and has extensive knowledge to show for it!  Her extremely handsome dog Bones is also part of the team and together they enjoy the variety of working with pets and farm animals. Bones is possibly the most handsome dog in Ireland. She also has an extremely handsome black cat called Ted.
